Default Wrinkle finish paint

Hello,

I've had varied success with Black wrinkle finish spray paints. Sometimes my parts turn out Perfect! Other times the paint is splotchey/un-even. Is there a "sure fire" method to apply this type of paint? Believe me......I've tryed.
Thanks

The paint that I've found to be the most dependable for proper wrinkling is Eastwood Black Wrinkle # 1230. I've tried Plasti-kote and found that it was extremely undependable for wrinkling. The secret to making the Eastwood stuff work is to apply to a part that is room temperature. Put on an extremely heavy coat - just less than what would cause a drip. Practice first. Wait three minues, exactly and apply second extremely heavy coat. Immediately move parts into warm to hot sun or in oven that's just warm enough where you can barely touch the racks. Leave in oven for at least 24 hours in order for the wrinkle to harden. Check them within about 15 minutes - if it hasn't started to wrinkle evenly or shiny little bubbles have appeared you will need to re-spray the wrinkle immediately.

Do NOT do this on a wet day or one with high humidity.

Default wrinkle finish

hey i just painted 2 air cleaners the other day they turned out awesome heres how ya do it
1.strip part chemical sand blast or just sand this is key for the material to be uniform thickness.
2spray light coat or primer sealer for corrotion resistance and adhetion just enough to cover.
3spray the wrinkle finish paint on 3 fairly heavy coats make sure the part is on a metal stand that will allow heat to get to the part what i use for heat is a MR HEATER which you mount on a gas grill tank psition it under the part fairly close and so it will heat evenly pay close attn if it looks uneven keep moving till it all wrinkes good the heat process will take about 15 min with this method and you will be very happy with the results if you have any other body ?s let me know id be glad to help BRIAN
