200,000 mile or more original Mopar thread.
I just hit 200K miles on my 2000 Grand Caravan. While I've had Mopars previously with many more miles, this is the first one I've had where every mile was put on during my ownership with the majority with myself behind the wheel.
I'll put this here as proof that I hit 200K miles on Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Hopefully I'll get to do the same with my 96 Breeze some day. It'll be going back on the road next spring with 168K miles or so and a new clutch. You folks with the older cars with only 5 digit odometers, not counting tenths, will have to let us know how many times you've turned it over! Oh and if you hit 300 or 400K or however many, stop by here to memorialize it. I hope to do the same! |

My Fury's 318 finally went down at 450,000 or so. I drove that car every single day all over California for about ten years. Right now I'm storing it, and when I can get to the speedo I'll take a pic. I know it's over 400,000 but not sure exactly by how much.

Got a 90 Voyager parked out back with 390,000 odd Km on it. Bought from the son of original owner at 85,000 KM. 3.0 L, auto od. never been apart, rust finally killed it. Wife drives a 97 Caravan, same drive train with 260,000 KM on it. Hope to get that much more.

Not sure if this counts in this thread. My 97 Neon is at 205,000 plus. I am not the original owner, the first 68,000 were on it when I bought it. Have done the head gasket twice, first time because that is what had to be done on 1st gen Neons, the second time, blew the head gasket towing my motorcycle back to Oregon from Michigan. Neons are only rated to tow around 1,000 lbs, bike and trailer were at least 1,400 if not higher.

Just for clarification, it doesn't really matter if you're the original owner, just that you know the vehicle well enough to state mileage.
It's nicer if you have the original engine and driveline, but the important thing is the car is still running or that it did at the time. I've got 168k on my 96 Breeze with 2.0 Neon engine. One head gasket, factory warrantee replacement. I'll be sure not to tow with it when I put it back on the road, hopefully next spring. I've got a Cummins for that duty. |

My '93 Ramcharger has been in my hands since early '94 and had 3000 on it when I got it. the rest are mine. Used to have a house on the Outer Banks of N.C. and this has seen significant beach running. Only time there ever was an issue is the waterpump went a few years back but leaked real bad instead of just breaking so I could get it home.

That's ok, while some may be able to keep their original drivetrain going a long time with no major tear down, sometimes it doesn't always work out that way.

I had a 1980 D150 225/ 6 3speed standard with OD. I put over 250,000 on it. It still ran but It got where it wouldent pull my 14' bass boat out of the water. I replaced it with a 340 and got T boned a month later. I beleave a /6 is the most reliable engine ever made.

my dad owned a 1975 dodge d100 he bought it in 83 with 80,000 on the clock.at 84,000 he was forced to rebuild the 318 2bbl due to a wrist pin wearing a groove in the cylinder.So one cylinder sleeve and a quick re-ring later it was up and going we sold the truck in 2003 and it had a verified million miles on the rebuild.He used that truck every day hauled a couple mills and lathes from california with it drove it to work ,took it fishing, I miss that ol red dodge and was sad to see it go but the new owner drove it away and is still driving it to this day.

I have an '84 W250, 318, NP 435, 208 transfer, Dana 44 front, 60 rear w/3.54 gear. Currently has 206,000 +. Rusty, but gets me to work every day that I don't drive my street rod. Engine, clutch and tranny are original. Some work has been done on the diffs and transfer by previous owners. I am the third owner (since Dec '03) and have put in ball joints and tie rod ends. Oil pressure is getting weak but still plows my yard and gets me to work.

The wife's 99 Durango is about to turn over 200K. It had about 90K on it when we bought it. At 104 it siezed a rod bearing because the P.O. never chaned the oil and the oil pump pick up plugged with sludge. Bought my '98 Ram new, it has about 159K on it.

I have a 1993 Dodge Ramcharger with 213000 miles on it. It's my daily driver and a wonderful truck. If and when I have any major engine problems she will get a new long block,but for now she runs like a top!

I had an '84 Ramcharger that I bought with 178,000 miles on it, put at least that many more on it, making about 356,000 miles. The engine didn't have a lot of compression left, so I pulled the engine, rebuilt it, and drove it just another couple hundred miles before selling it. A week later, it caught fire and was severely burned, but the kid got out just fine.

I had a 1997 Chrysler Intrepid Sport with the 3.5 litre engine that my wife and I purchased new. We put 360,000 Km on it and then gave it to our daughter to take to university. She put on another 75,000 Km and then the rear wheel bearing blew up. I could have fixed it but decided to retire it. The engine never burned oil and the transmission was only rebuilt once. The interior was still pristine. May be the best and most reliable car I have ever owned.
