Default Ture 426 Hemi Horsepower numbers

I've been watching a lot of engine dyno stuff on Youtube lately. While not everything you see is true, but seems like this guy went through the effort to reproduce as close to factory as he could.

It was interesting, I would like to see more of the "real" horsepower dyno pulls of different displacements from Chrysler.

Oh, and 490hp is what this guys Hemi dynoed at.

I watched that one too. Everyone said that the hemi produced more than the advertised hp. And that video backs up that claim. Some said that advertising the true hp would up people's insurance. All in all, quite an engine.

I just read some articles that on underrating HP, manufacturers would not rev the motor up very high. This kept the numbers lower. I think the 426 was rated 425hp at 4500 rpms, but we know it can rev up higher than that.
